Her Interview

Ten minutes with Siarra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the education that was provided and my parents. They have been such a catalyst in my life. My mom coming from Puerto Rico and my dad being a first generation with parents from Colombia, seeing how hard they've worked to provide for me and my sister has given me the oomph.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always give 110%. I got that from my father. Watching him in the corporate industry since I was born, going beyond to support his family, really gave me the dedication to make sure I'm doing him justice.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid. This industry is predominantly male dominated. Don't let a man bring you down. Women can multitask and do a lot. Keep working hard and keep your head up because women are dominating from a data point of view.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunity-wise, having connections with people from the UK, West Coast, East Coast to branch out and make more relationships. Challenges include the work getting a lot so you have to know how to multitask and take a step back, and sometimes men telling you that you need to smile but you brush that off.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Communication and understanding are most important. Things can be lost without the right communication or taken out of context. Being honest and truthful really does get you far as well.
