About Siena

I am an academic and athletic compliance professional with a deep expertise in NCAA regulations, student-athlete eligibility, and sport business, currently serving as Adjunct Professor in the School of Education at Baylor University, where I teach SPM 5327, Financial Management in Sport, and as Athletic Certification Coordinator, a role I have held since October 2017, where I execute continuing student-athlete academic eligibility per NCAA Bylaw 14.4, analyze and evaluate incoming transfer eligibility, prepare Academic Progress Rate and Graduation Success Rate reports, collaborate with Student-Athlete Academic Coaches, and provide rules education regarding continuing athlete eligibility.

I also serve as Adjunct Lecturer at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy, where I teach BUS 220-1: Business Communications to undergraduate students.

Prior to my current roles, I served as Athletic Compliance Intern at Gonzaga University for over a year, where I gained expertise in NCAA Bylaws 12-17 covering recruiting, eligibility, playing and practice seasons, and amateurism, worked daily with student-athletes and coaches to ensure compliance, and created documents and presentations for constituent rules education. I also served as USA Swimming Hospitality House Event Volunteer for the Olympic Trials, where I assisted in set-up and break-down of daily events, created Excel workbooks for analytics regarding event attendance, and greeted incoming guests, and as Marketing and Promotions Intern at Spokane Chiefs Hockey for five months, where I provided game-day assistance with on-ice promotions and graphic design.

I hold a Doctor of Philosophy in Sport Business from Loughborough University London, where my thesis focused on the ecosystem concept within modern organization theory, and a Professional Certificate in Servant Leadership from Gonzaga University School of Leadership Studies.

Across my career in academic instruction and athletic compliance, my work has been driven by a commitment to supporting student-athlete success, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing sport business education through research and teaching. Whether I am teaching financial management in sport, certifying athletic eligibility, or conducting research on sport ecosystems, I bring a strategic, student-centered, and collaborative approach that supports the development of future sport professionals and the integrity of athletic programs. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue contributing to sport business education and athletic compliance at Baylor University and beyond.
