Her Story
About Sierra
Sierra is entering the field of psychology, choosing it based on her life experiences and a desire to understand her own behaviors and decision-making processes. She is currently enrolled in online studies at Grand Canyon University out of Phoenix, Arizona, anticipating completion in March 2029 while planning to test out of classes to finish sooner. Prior to this path, her professional background includes work in the arts such as dancing, as well as extensive experience in customer service, hospitality, and food and beverage, with a shift to remote customer service work from home beginning about ten years ago. Her career aspirations center on providing supportive services to survivors of trafficking, particularly women and children, developing technology to help catch online predators, and potentially contributing to related legislation. She values hard work, integrity, honesty, humility, knowledge, information, authenticity, and genuineness in both her work and personal life, and describes herself as resilient, hopeful, and optimistic.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sierra
01What do you attribute your success to?
I don't know if I'd call myself successful, I'd say I'm resilient, and hopeful, and optimistic. I don't know if I'm successful yet, but that is a yet.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell them that they have everything that they need within themselves to be anything they want to be. If it's not a skill set or personality trait they have, it's within their capacity to do so, and try not to look outside themselves for validation, and especially not into society.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value hard work and integrity, and I value honesty and humility, and I value knowledge and information, and authenticity and genuineness.
