Her Story
About Sierra
Sierra Flores, MSM, is an Owner and Senior Designer at Closet Factory Jacksonville, where she brings over four years of experience in the home organization and custom closet industry. In her role, she leads both design and business operations, overseeing marketing initiatives, internal operations, hiring, and training while continuing to serve clients directly. She specializes in residential, commercial, and new construction projects, partnering with builders, contractors, and homeowners to design customized storage solutions that align with each client’s space, lifestyle, and budget.
Sierra’s design process is highly hands-on and client-focused. She meets with clients in their homes and project sites to take measurements, assess needs, present product selections, and develop fully customized design plans. She began her career focusing on residential clients and steadily expanded into builder and interior designer partnerships, building strong professional relationships across the industry. Her leadership also extends internally, where she has successfully mentored and developed approximately 20 designers, helping them refine their skills and grow their own design confidence and approach.
She earned a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health. Earlier in her career, she gained diverse experience in healthcare, client services, and sales roles, including positions at Cerebral and Intracoastal Dermatology, which strengthened her organizational and client care skills. One of her most notable achievements includes exceeding $1 million in sales during her first year in the field, an accomplishment that marked her rapid growth in the industry and was supported by mentorship from her mother, who also works within the company and has been a key influence in her professional development.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sierra
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would honestly say my mom. She's the one that kind of roped me into doing all of this, so just kind of watching her as a businesswoman as well, and kind of following her lead in learning the market and learning this career. She works for the same company, and she's been instrumental in helping me understand the business and develop my skills.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to go for it with confidence. It is an incredibly rewarding field where no two days are the same, which keeps the work exciting and engaging. You have the opportunity to meet a wide range of people and make a real impact by helping them create organized, functional, and beautiful spaces that improve their daily lives. While the beginning can feel challenging as you learn the technical and client-facing aspects of the role, persistence and practice make a significant difference, and once you find your rhythm, there is tremendous room to grow and excel. It is also a uniquely creative career that blends elements of design, problem-solving, and even a sense of fashion, making it both dynamic and fulfilling.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my work and personal life, the values that matter most to me are integrity, hard work, continuous growth, and meaningful relationships. As a Senior Designer at Closet Factory with four years of experience, I take pride in working closely with builders, contractors, and residential clients to create customized designs, take precise measurements, and deliver solutions that are both functional and beautiful. I am driven by a strong work ethic and accountability, which helped me achieve over a million dollars in sales in my first year in the industry. Just as important to me is mentorship and giving back I credit much of my early success to my mother, who introduced me to the business and has been a key mentor in my journey, and I now find fulfillment in mentoring approximately 20 designers to help them grow in confidence and skill. I also value education and adaptability, which I carried through my studies in Health Science at UCF and my master’s in Management at UNF, recognizing that while formal design training is not always required, a commitment to learning and improving is essential in both my career and personal life.
