Her Story

About Sierra

Sierra X brings seven years of experience in health insurance to her role helping clients navigate Medicare and the Affordable Care Act. After college she began her career at Enterprise Rental Car and later worked in car sales, where she obtained her health and life insurance license. This path led her to focus on Medicare for the 65 and older population, ensuring vulnerable individuals receive needed care and are not taken advantage of, while also assisting those denied for Medicaid with other affordable options. She spends her days in the field educating people at local businesses, daycares, and restaurants and combines this outreach with extensive community volunteering. Sierra recently joined the Board of Advisors at Blue Cross Blue Shield for Women and aspires to lead a community health board within the next five years. A true Tar Heel from Fayetteville, North Carolina, she credits her drive to overcoming early challenges and breaking generational patterns, and she emphasizes the importance of character in both her professional and personal life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sierra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I come from a place of I've been on my own since I was young. I've had an okay childhood, but I definitely had some battles in childhood that no child should ever have to come through. So I believe that my sense comes from not having and lack of. I use a term all the time of getting it out the mud and just breaking generational curses. I want to be the one that I dreamed of as a little girl.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you can dream it, you can do it, and don't stop. It doesn't matter what obstacle comes your way, or what you're thrown with on your path, keep going, keep pushing through. There's a light at the end of that tunnel. Set your mind on that and accomplish it. You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I am a true Southern Belle, raised in a Baptist church, come from a big family. My values and my perspective on life come from my upbringing. One of my biggest traits and values closest to my heart is character. Character is what you're doing even when someone isn't watching, when it's just you and God.
