01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith, family’s support, and determination. I hold myself to high standards, lead by example, and remain committed to achieving my goals through hard work, perseverance, and dedication.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received came from mentors like Amy White, Theresa Cole, and Ivalice Henderson. Their guidance taught me to stay committed to growth, embrace opportunities, and build meaningful relationships throughout my healthcare communications career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Speak success wherever you go and never allow yourself to feel boxed in. Stay focused on what matters, be resourceful in building your community, and understand that a successful career is rarely a straight line. Be persistent, adaptable, and willing to create your own opportunities.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I face challenges around underrepresentation as a woman of color, imposter syndrome, and persuading clients to embrace new perspectives. These challenges also create opportunities to advocate for diversity and drive meaningful change through communications.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value open communication, transparency, accountability, mutual respect, and continuous growth. Personally, I prioritize trust, understanding, and meaningful communication, recognizing that thoughtful actions and understanding each other’s needs strengthen relationships.
