Her Story

About Silvia

Silvia Eliat is a passionate Latina multicultural marketing professional with more than 25 years of experience in marketing, advertising, and communications. She is the co-founder of Developer Resource Group, a business she has developed with her husband for the past 15 years as consultants to various agencies and companies. Previously, Eliat worked for 19 years at Western Union International, where she served as marketing director for multicultural markets and received multiple awards for customer service excellence, multicultural marketing, advertising, and leadership. She holds a BA in Marketing from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and obtained her financial representative license to promote financial literacy in underserved communities. Eliat is a member of the HLX+ non-for-profit organization and serves on boards of directors for multicultural organizations, where she engages in charity work and fundraising for scholarships. She attributes her success to passion, focus, results orientation, teamwork, and leadership, and is dedicated to being a voice for the Latino community.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to passion, focus, knowing where I want to get to, being results oriented, teamwork, and leadership.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay true to yourself, stay focused, never give up, educate yourself, learn new tricks like AI tools but do not think AI will replace you because your skills and traits are not replaceable.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The challenge and opportunity is to scale it up, be the voice for the Latino community, get them out of the woods, voice out their needs, and be heard and seen, especially with legislation and government.
