About Silvia Elizabeth
Silvia Martinez has dedicated nearly 30 years to the field of education. She began her career as a Spanish teacher at the high school level, where she spent five years before transitioning into administration. Over the course of approximately 20 years, Martinez held numerous leadership positions, including campus and central office administration, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, executive director of a school district, family engagement coordinator, and interim superintendent. She has since returned to the classroom and currently serves as a high school Spanish teacher at Plano Senior High School in Texas. In addition to her teaching duties, she acts as the assistant speech and debate coach and the academic decathlon coach at the school. Martinez earned her bachelor's degree in political science and Spanish from Texas A&M University, Kingsville in 1997, followed by a master's degree in educational administration from East Texas A&M University in 2001 and a doctorate in the same field from the same institution in 2006. She is a lifetime member of the PTA and serves as the scholarship coordinator for the Greater North Texas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, in addition to being a member of the DFW Network.
