Her Story

About Sina

I've been in the healthcare field since 2004 and owned my business Home Care Hands for 11 years. As CEO I oversee all operations including behavioral health, education, home care and staffing divisions. I started in nursing school while working as a home health aide and found joy in caring for seniors one-on-one. I hold an associate's degree and human services certificate from 2009 along with CNA and medical assistant certifications from 2004 and am a Certified Dementia Practitioner. My success comes from faith, service, creativity, and a drive to make an impact while employing others.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm a believer of faith, service and servitude. I'm inspired every day to be creative and by my staff. Resilience, vision, and executing even on tough days. Driven by making an impact in my corner of the world and employing people who rely on us.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Be brave and bold even in the face of fear and the unknown. When people tell you no, decide if it's a no or yes for you. If you're going to do it, do it with the fear anyway.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Fortune favors the bold. Do it with the fear anyway. If you have the vision, it's hard work but if you want to do it, you can do it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Getting the word out so people know and understand the services offered. Many families are struggling to find care and respite but don't know what's available. Staff retention is not the issue if you run a good company.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, honesty, truth, kindness, compassion, empathy, understanding, servitude. Being a good person who cares for others. Treating staff well without letting title make you superior.
