Her Story

About Siobhan

I lead efforts at the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, where I've become laser-focused on my local community, my neighbors, my son, and my colleagues. My primary goal is to bring in $10 million over the next 2 years to expand our organization and meet the rapidly growing need in our community. This work is all about conveying the right story, connecting with people from a heart-centered place, and finding alignment between the impact they want to have and the way our mission can match that. I don't have big, lofty dreams in terms of career advancement, but I want to make North Lake Tahoe the strong, vibrant, economically resilient community that it deserves to be. I've had a lot of really incredible opportunities to be in the spotlight and on the stage, and I want to leverage my network so that these kids and these families can get the resources they deserve. There are so many incredible people, mostly women but also men, behind me and with me doing this work, and I just want to get the message out that we're here, that we're building, and we're rising to the occasion. While I don't come from a traditional background and don't have the degrees, I'm really grateful for the attention and potential upliftment this recognition will bring to our organization.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say just dream big, as big as you possibly can, and work hard. Don't let anybody tell you that there's a limit on anything. Stay passionate, stay true to who you are, and believe in yourself. You be that driving force. You have your own inner faith in what you can do and what you can accomplish, and the sky is literally the limit. The other thing I would say is don't get too boxed in with your career and your specialty. These days with AI and the way things are evolving, your skills can transfer across most industries. So don't be limited on one career, one profession, one industry, but focus on the skill, focus on your strengths, and lean into those. They're applicable in so many different walks of life.
