Her Story

About Sneha

I've been in the health and aesthetics industry for over 35 years, and throughout my career, I've worn many hats. I started the very first integrative medicine clinic for Edward Elmhurst Health hospital system in Chicago, Illinois, because of the opioid crisis. In that role, I would open up med spas or refurbish them for doctor's offices, and we added on acupuncturists, Reiki, guided imagery, and massage therapists, because the physician guidelines required them to start writing scripts to physical therapy and acupuncture. I did that for 7 years until 2023. I've also been a medical esthetician educator for big brands like Canyon Ranch Resorts and DDF, and I train internationally as a speaker and master educator in paramedical tattoo. During my divorce, when my daughter asked me to put lipstick on her and I hesitated, I spent my money calling manufacturers I knew and created Vaugh Cosmetics, a mineral makeup line with lipsticks containing avocado oil, grapeseed oil, and vitamin E - just really more natural ingredients. Now I run HEAL in Beauty School Academy (H-E-A-L-I-N-K), where I teach advanced master classes for paramedical tattoo. I teach people how to use a serum needling technique to heal scars and stretch marks, or use camouflage, and I also use my precision channeling technique to heal wrinkles and acne scars. I was recently a judge for The Skin Games, an international competition, for the paramedical tattoo category including areola tattoo and scar work. I'm passionate about sharing the beautiful work we can do with the tattoo needle, and I speak at permanent makeup PMU conferences internationally.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sneha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my determination, just never giving up, like always owning what my want is, or what I'm really good at, right? So listening to my own self, and then never giving up. Always trying. I think keeping my goal in mind is crucial, because without a goal, you're just lost. You have to constantly speak to your subconscious mind and be aware of what you want to do. It's about organization, planning, and having a goal, because without a goal, you really are just lost and you're going to be wasting so much time. Goal setting is one of the biggest things.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

So much has changed from when I started in the early 90s to now. I would say be open to educating not just once, but continuing education is so important. Do your due diligence, pick great educators, and continue to be educated, right? But also, a lot of this is all marketing too, so once you hone your talent and you want to get yourself out there, now we're in the era of algorithm marketing and it's about ads, so don't beat yourself up. Get started, hone in your talent, and your talent is what's gonna drive you to be your best, but then also you will need ads. Things are changing all the time, and if you become stuck, so does your work and your talent.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My integrity and doing the right thing are most important to me. I believe in safety, you know, that's what I believe in. You just always, always do the right thing for someone, whether it is in your work, or your partnerships, or in your relationships. You can't cut corners, and you've got to make sure that you're doing everything correct, right? It's somebody's life in your hands, so there's no cutting corners.
