What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to three core things: discipline, emotional intelligence, and an unwavering commitment to growth. I have always believed that consistency beats intensity. Whether it’s building teams, training recruiters, or developing professionals, I show up every single day with preparation and intention. Over time, that discipline compounds into results. I also deeply value emotional intelligence — understanding people, reading between the lines, and communicating with clarity. In recruitment and training, success isn’t just about strategy; it’s about understanding human behavior.
Another key factor has been my willingness to keep learning and evolving. I have never positioned myself as someone who “knows it all.” Instead, I constantly upgrade my knowledge, refine processes, and adapt to changing market dynamics — especially in fast-paced sectors like healthcare recruitment and talent acquisition. That growth mindset has helped me stay relevant and build credibility.
Lastly, I attribute my success to purpose. I genuinely care about building careers and creating opportunities. When your work is driven by impact rather than ego, it naturally attracts trust, long-term relationships, and sustainable growth. For me, success has always been about creating value — and that focus continues to guide every professional decision I make.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was: “Don’t just do your job — understand the business.” Early in my career, I focused heavily on execution — delivering results, meeting targets, and completing tasks efficiently. But when I started understanding the larger picture — revenue impact, stakeholder expectations, long-term strategy — my decision-making changed completely. I became more intentional, more strategic, and more valuable to the organization.
Another piece of advice that stayed with me is: “Your reputation enters the room before you do.” That shaped how I approach professionalism, communication, and integrity. In recruitment and training, trust is everything. The way you respond, the way you handle pressure, and the way you treat people — all of it builds your professional brand long before your resume does.
Together, these lessons taught me that career growth isn’t accidental. It’s built through awareness, accountability, and consistently delivering value beyond what is expected.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the recruitment and talent industry is to build both competence and confidence simultaneously. Master your fundamentals — sourcing, screening, communication, negotiation — but also learn to speak about your work with clarity and authority. This industry moves fast and is highly performance-driven, so results matter. However, how you position yourself, set boundaries, and communicate value is equally important.
Secondly, don’t underestimate the power of emotional intelligence. Recruitment is not just about filling roles; it’s about understanding human behavior, managing expectations, and building long-term relationships. The ability to stay calm under pressure, handle rejection professionally, and maintain integrity will set you apart more than any tool or technology.
Lastly, never shrink yourself to fit into spaces that demand you to be smaller. Ask questions, take leadership opportunities early, and don’t wait for permission to grow. The industry rewards those who are proactive, resilient, and solutions oriented. Own your voice, own your ambition, and most importantly, own your journey.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the recruitment and talent development space right now is navigating rapid shifts in workforce expectations. Candidates today aren’t just looking for jobs — they’re looking for purpose, flexibility, growth, and alignment with values. Organizations, on the other hand, are balancing talent scarcity, cultural fit, and business performance under pressure. This makes matching people with roles more complex than ever. As a result, professionals in our field must bring not just technical recruitment skills, but strategic insight, empathy, and adaptability to every interaction.
At the same time, this evolution brings enormous opportunities. With so much change, companies that embrace data-driven hiring, strong employer branding, and intentional candidate experiences stand to win top talent. There is a growing need for coaches, trainers, and strategists who help professionals articulate their value and prepare for meaningful careers. This demand creates space for innovation in personal branding, career development, and talent engagement practices.
Ultimately, the challenge and opportunity are two sides of the same coin. The future of work rewards those who can bridge human potential with business goals — and as professionals in this field, we have the chance to shape not just careers, but organizational cultures and success stories that last.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the most important value in both my professional and personal life. I strongly believe that trust is earned through consistency, honesty, and accountability. In recruitment and training, people place their careers — and sometimes their livelihoods — in your hands. That responsibility requires transparency, ethical decision-making, and the courage to have honest conversations, even when they are difficult.
Another value that guides me is discipline. Success, in my experience, is rarely about dramatic moments; it’s about showing up consistently, honoring commitments, and continuously improving. Discipline keeps me grounded during high-pressure situations and helps me maintain focus on long-term goals rather than short-term distractions.
Lastly, I deeply value empathy. Whether working with candidates, clients, colleagues, or family, I believe understanding perspectives and emotions is essential. Empathy strengthens relationships, improves communication, and creates environments where people feel respected and supported. For me, success is meaningful only when it is built on strong values and positive impact.
