I am a writer and poet publishing for over 20 years, focusing on memoirs, poetry about refugees, and short stories for children. My work highlights women's issues, family relationships, and helping refugees obtain grants and scholarships. I run open mic gatherings for women of diverse backgrounds to share hidden stories and build confidence. Previously based in Dubai for 20 years doing investigative journalism, I supported breast cancer awareness campaigns including work honored by First Lady Laura Bush.
