About Sommer
I started in real estate tech at CoStar Group after sneaking into a career fair and handing out resumes while bartending. I loved researching sales comparables because it felt like being paid to gossip about deals. After excelling there and moving into management, I transitioned to Luxury Presents working with luxury residential agents, and now I'm at Houzz focusing on the construction and design side of the industry.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Everything you needed to know, you learned in kindergarten. People in business, it's not hard. It's if you think about it in the very bare basics of things, we make it more difficult than it needs to be.
