Her Story
About Sonya
I have been in banking and finance since March 19, 2001. After working in multiple banks and noticing that business owners weren't getting the capital access they needed, and feeling limited in a male-dominated environment, I started my own advisory business in April 2026. I help clients with working capital, equipment financing, and commercial real estate. I also became a real estate investor to create an exit strategy using my corporate experience.

Ten minutes with Sonya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to continuing to learn and evolve, not staying stuck in the same place. My childhood was traumatic but I knew I had to move forward, and my belief in God has helped me tremendously.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received is to never let the naysayers stop you and never let negative talk get in your mind. Keep doing what you're doing once you're inspired to do something that works and helps others.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never let anyone tell you who you are. Don't let other people's toxicity or opinions spill over onto you. Recognize who your true people are. Be who you are, work with integrity, be resilient, and keep getting back up and moving forward. Every mistake can be fixed.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my personal life, being present, sharing knowledge, integrity, positivity, and leading by example are most important. Doing what you say you're going to do and not spending time on things that won't add value.
