About Sonya

Sonya McGuire serves as CEO of Thick Brow Productions, bringing more than 24 years of expertise in production ownership, creative media, independent production, and business operations. A singer, songwriter, and music producer, she began performing in her father's church as a young musician before expanding into songwriting, singing, motivational speaking, and podcast hosting. Since 2004, she has traveled internationally across Africa, Asia, and beyond, sharing jazz, soul, and gospel music. Her work includes the Grammy-nominated song Stronger, which has inspired many dealing with grief and hardship. Beyond her artistic pursuits, McGuire is active in philanthropy, introducing nonprofits to communities through her podcast, organizing the Thing for a Cure fundraiser for families affected by cancer, and supporting groups such as the PAD Network and Teamworks. She attributes her success to persistence and a refusal to quit, advising others in any season of life to keep going because they are closer than they think.
