About Sri
I am an epidemiologist with a clinical dentistry background, passionate about using data to improve population health and strengthen public health systems. As Lead Epidemiologist at the Texas Department of State Health Services, I work on surveillance, outbreak analysis, and public health research to support evidence-based decision-making.
Previously, I served as an Epidemiologist with the State of Kansas Office of the Attorney General, where I contributed to investigations requiring epidemiologic analysis and cross-agency collaboration. My early public health training included research at Texas A&M University School of Nursing, GIS analysis internships using ArcGIS tools, and teaching Anatomy & Physiology II as a Teaching Assistant at Texas A&M University.
Before transitioning into public health, I practiced dentistry and coordinated clinical research at Srinivasa Dental Clinic and Gitam Dental College & Hospital, gaining valuable insight into patient care, epidemiologic patterns, and healthcare systems.
My goal is to bridge clinical insight, data science, and epidemiology to design effective public health interventions that improve community health outcomes.
