About Stacey
Stacey Hunter is a seasoned accounting and finance professional with more than 30 years of experience specializing in construction accounting, accounts payable, purchasing, procurement, and office management. She began her career after graduating high school in 1985, gaining early experience in inventory, auditing, and purchasing at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas. In 1995, she transitioned into construction accounting, contributing to the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel and later supporting major projects, including expansions at the Silverton Hotel and Bass Pro Shops. Her work on these high-profile developments earned her recognition as Employee of the Month at Silverton Hotel and Employee of the Year at Hard Rock Hotel.
Throughout her career, Stacey has developed extensive expertise in managing contracts, subcontractor coordination, billing processes, job costing, payroll, financial reporting, and ensuring billing schedules accurately align with project progress. She has held leadership roles including Field Office Manager at Hoffman Construction and Office Manager positions with Quanta Telecom Services and other organizations, where she managed financial operations, purchasing activities, administrative functions, and project documentation. Known for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to build effective relationships, Stacey has consistently supported successful project execution and business operations.
Based in the Boise Metropolitan Area, Stacey continues to bring valuable knowledge and experience from her long career in accounting and construction management. She attributes her success to continuous learning, strong mentors, and the willingness to ask questions to ensure accuracy and excellence in her work. Outside of her professional life, Stacey enjoys spending time with her family, including her two adult children who work in law enforcement, as well as her nieces and nephews. She also enjoys walking, biking, and making time for the relationships that have been important throughout her life and career.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my curiosity, willingness to learn, and passion for continuous growth. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have great mentors who guided, taught, and encouraged me while allowing me the independence to apply what I learned, gain experience, and develop my own skills.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that it is always better to ask questions and seek clarification than to make assumptions and risk getting something wrong. Asking questions demonstrates a willingness to learn, helps build understanding, and leads to better decisions and outcomes.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to never hesitate to ask questions. There is no wrong question, and every opportunity to learn helps you grow and succeed.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field involve ensuring accurate billing schedules, verifying that contractor invoices match expectations, and making sure supplemental contracts are properly in place when needed.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are being dependable, honest, and respectful of others. I believe building strong relationships with coworkers and peers is essential to success, as trust, collaboration, and positive connections create a stronger work environment.
