Her Interview
Ten minutes with Stacey
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to starting out from little, being a little painted poster, and growing myself into the position that I am today. At the end of the day, I'm helping someone who inspired me, like someone's grandmother or grandfather, and that's my biggest success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Work with kindness. I always tell everybody, work hard, be kind, get it done. Because at the end of the day, when you're kind, even if it's bad news, people will appreciate that you said it in a kind way.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never let anyone keep you down. You have the ability to get things done. Women can multitask, women can do everything, and even better than a man, because we have a logical brain, but we also have a strategic mind. We can also do it with confidence and kindness.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge right now with federally qualified health centers is we're not getting as much funding as we were before, so now you have to try and work on a much smaller budget. Still have patients that we still need to see, and we still have people in the community that we still need to strive to health, so we have to come up with ways to stretch the dollar a little bit more without putting that burden on our patients.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and integrity. I believe that you should always be very honest and open with your customers, within your organization, within your team. Because then you are trustworthy, and you can't do business with someone that you don't trust.
