Her Interview
Ten minutes with Stacie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my go-to attitude, determination, and willingness to embrace challenges. I do not let the word “no” discourage me; instead, I see obstacles as opportunities to find creative solutions and a better path forward. When I am told something cannot be done, I am motivated to explore what is possible and find a way to achieve the goal. I believe in making the most of every opportunity, taking calculated risks, and approaching both my personal and professional life with confidence, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous growth.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to document everything and always follow up in writing. A conversation can be interpreted differently by different people, so I believe it is important to confirm key decisions, expectations, and commitments through email or other written communication. Clear documentation not only helps prevent misunderstandings but also promotes accountability, transparency, and professionalism in every working relationship.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to take ownership of your own path and remain open to learning from everyone you meet. Never underestimate the value of a conversation or an opportunity to take a meeting, because you never know when a connection may lead to a new opportunity, mentor, or valuable insight. Most importantly, believe in your goals, stay persistent, and do not let rejection or obstacles discourage you. If you have a clear vision of what you want to accomplish, be resourceful, determined, and confident in finding a way to make it happen.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating changing government priorities and funding decisions. With each administration, funding can shift toward different initiatives and priorities, making it important to remain adaptable and find sustainable ways to support programs and projects over the long term. At the same time, I see significant opportunities in the constructive use of artificial intelligence. When implemented thoughtfully, AI can help organizations streamline processes, improve efficiency, and work smarter rather than harder while allowing professionals to focus their time and expertise where they can have the greatest impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are honesty, integrity, accountability, and mutual respect. I believe in treating others the way I would want to be treated and holding myself to the same standards I expect from those around me. If I expect someone to work hard, be dependable, and follow through on their commitments, I believe I must be willing to do the same for them. Leading by example, keeping my word, and building relationships based on trust are principles that guide me in everything I do.
