Stana Nakhle serves as Director in New York state government public health, a role she has held since 2013 after beginning her career in local city government. Originally interested in politics and international relations, she earned a degree in International Affairs from the School of Public Affairs at SIPA Columbia. When citizenship requirements limited her initial career options, she transitioned into public health, finding it a fulfilling path in public service that allows her to make a tangible difference through community engagement and improved health access. In her position, Nakhle represents the New York State Department of Health across the downstate region, delivering trainings to community organizations, speaking at events such as the New York Public Library series, and serving as a guest lecturer at her alma mater, Columbia University. She emphasizes building strong teams, delegating effectively, and advocating for oneself while remaining curious and asking questions to advance professionally.
