Stefanie Dodge Svisco
Stefanie Dodge Svisco is the Executive Director of the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA Florida), where she brings over a decade of experience in non-profit management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. In her current role, Stefanie oversees financial operations, leads fundraising campaigns, and coordinates educational initiatives, working closely with the board and staff to advance APA Florida’s mission. Passionate about inclusive and sustainable planning, she also advocates for legislative priorities that strengthen the planning profession across the state.
Prior to her leadership at APA Florida, Stefanie served as Program Administrator at The Florida Bar, managing the Business Law Section and leading initiatives in financial oversight, contract negotiations, and event management. She also held property management roles at Arbor Properties, where she focused on staff development, community engagement, and operational efficiency. Across each position, Stefanie has demonstrated a talent for building collaborative environments that enhance organizational impact and stakeholder engagement.
Stefanie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance (Classical) from Wright State University and recently completed the Association Executive Master Business Academy through the Florida Society of Association Executives. She is actively involved in volunteer efforts spanning animal welfare, child welfare, civil rights, and civic engagement, reflecting her commitment to creating positive change both professionally and in her community.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to setting clear goals and maintaining focus and discipline to achieve them, along with strong time management skills.
In addition to my professional work, I serve as a Music Director and Theater leader, and I have experience in public speaking.
My personal interests include spending quality time with family and friends, volunteering, and engaging with my community.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to strive to be the best I can be each day, to be a supportive team player, and to maintain a constant eagerness to learn.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to be a great mentor to others, lead by example, and take pride in who you are and the work you do.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is the ability to reach and support a larger number of people who need our help.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me in both my work and personal life are respecting myself and others, and reaching out to support those in need.
