Stella Herzig, M.L.S.
Stella Herzig, M.L.S., is an accomplished Reference and Instruction Librarian with over three decades of experience in higher education. Currently serving at St. Ambrose University, she provides expert guidance in information literacy, electronic resources, and bibliographic instruction, supporting students and faculty across theology, philosophy, English, and psychology disciplines. Stella has a proven ability to design innovative learning experiences, integrating real-world applications and emerging technologies to enhance academic success. Throughout her career, Stella has demonstrated a strong commitment to student engagement and innovative pedagogy. She developed the “Hot Topics Libguide” and created the IL101 Information Literacy Buzzin’ Bees Podcast series, allowing students to explore research topics, share perspectives, and develop communication skills through creative, collaborative projects. Her work reflects a dedication to making research accessible, practical, and relevant while fostering critical thinking and social-emotional learning. Passionate about lifelong learning and community involvement, Stella actively contributes to professional organizations such as AAUW and participates in initiatives with FFLV.org and the Iowa Farm Sanctuary.
