Her Interview
Ten minutes with Stephanie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to experience and listening. Listening is a big skill because you understand what the other person's priorities are, what is important to them, and then address those concerns and pain points. Especially with executive leaders, being able to address their problems and handhold them until concerns are resolved.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Have a board of directors or sounding board of one or two mentors to bounce ideas off when making career moves. My mentors Luis Rojas at Liberty Mutual and Matthew Magota in the Army have been phenomenal in pushing me and sharing advice on moves like from U.S. Bank to Wells Fargo.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Certifications are a big thing in this day and age of AI where degrees are getting redundant. Get change management certification like ProSci, IO psychology background, Hogan, MBTI, CONFORE360. Experience of influencing leaders through volunteering helps a lot. I coach Destination Imagination to help young girls get to the next level.
