Stephanie Green is the payroll and HR Administrator for the Kemper County Board of Supervisors in Mississippi. She has held this position for five years and oversees a wide range of responsibilities including onboarding new employees, creating personnel files, handling documentation for the public employee retirement system (PERS), processing Mississippi new hires through E-Verify, coordinating random drug testing, managing bi-weekly and monthly payroll, and updating employee records such as banking and beneficiary information. Green previously worked as an industrial technical service representative for a waste management corporate division and as an assistant financial clerk for Kemper County before transitioning into her current role following the retirement of the payroll clerk. Her extensive work history also includes roles at Lowe's progressing from returns desk associate to head cashier, running an injection molding machine at Southern Circuits, dispatching for a trucking company, and serving as a transportation coordinator at waste management. She is committed to helping employees by maintaining an open door policy and advocating for fair treatment, drawing from her experience living in Kemper County where she often assists staff even outside of regular work hours. Green advises young women entering the field to be fair, firm, and consistent in their approach to all individuals.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My number one thing is to be fair, firm, and consistent. If you treat everybody alike and the way that you want to be treated, you will never have a problem.
