Her Story
About Stephanie
Professionally, I keep up with my fitness journey and my mental health, which I think is really important. Probably the necessities that you need to survive are your mental health and your physical health. I try to post inspiring or motivating content online, and just travel when I can, and then use that as my experience for adding on additional content to sell my art or my t-shirts. Outside of being a content creator, I'm somebody that tries her best, isn't perfect, but definitely gives 100% every day. I'm a hard worker. I try to do my best and have a positive attitude, and just to keep going forward. That's pretty much what I base my entire personality on - try my best, because it makes me feel better about myself. Even if I have a horrible day or a horrible moment, I realize that I'm just human, and I can hang my hat on that moment and say, okay, that's finished, but I need to just keep moving forward.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Make mistakes, that's how you learn. That was from one of my first jobs that I had working for a politician. I did some work for him doing canvassing around the neighborhood, and the first day I met him, he shook my hand and said, 'My name is so-and-so, make mistakes, that's how you learn.' I was really shocked by that, but he turned out to be one of the best bosses I ever had.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say do what you're passionate about, not what you think is gonna make you successful. And not what's trending or popular, and just to be genuine, like yourself. Your people that are gonna love you for who you are are gonna find you, because you attract who you are. So that's what I would recommend for them, is to just genuinely be radically authentic.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I would say I struggle with depression and comparing myself to others. That pretty much summarizes what I struggle with. As for opportunities, I like having an impact on watching other people succeed. I enjoy hearing how something affected somebody else. Like, one time I was at an event, and this lady I didn't even remember talking to came up to me, and she was like, 'You were really nice to me on such and such last time, and that really meant a lot to me.' I just enjoy that experience. I like hearing how my storytelling affects people in a positive way, and I use that as motivation for me too to further my journey.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important part of my work is perseverance. You're not gonna get it right every single time, but when you pick yourself back up after getting it wrong, you learn how to do it differently or better, and you just keep getting better afterwards. You're gonna have those moments. Personally, I guess I value kindness. I feel like a lot of people that I meet have grace, or most of them, and I appreciate that. I feel very grateful that I run into people that have grace and kindness, even when sometimes you might not deserve it, but they have compassion. So I think that is a big component of why I try so hard, is because I value showing kindness and receiving kindness.
