About Stephanie
Stephanie Jolly is a loss prevention and shortage control professional with extensive experience across retail and e-commerce operations. She currently serves as Shortage Control Manager – Digital at The TJX Companies, Inc., where she focuses on digital loss prevention, shortage control, fraud prevention, and data-driven analysis. She has spent more than 11 years with TJX, progressing through roles including Merchandise Controller, Inventory Supervisor, FC Digital Loss Prevention Supervisor, and Senior Shortage Control Analyst before moving into her current management position. Her broader career also includes store management experience with The Children's Place and Justice. In her current role, Stephanie specializes in using data analytics and Microsoft Power BI to identify systemic loss issues within e-commerce and fulfillment operations. Her work involves distinguishing broader operational and process-related issues from individual human error, analyzing fraud and refund activity, and supporting loss prevention initiatives across multiple fulfillment centers. She has also played a role in developing and managing a fraud-focused function designed to address e-commerce fraud. Her analytical and process-improvement approach is complemented by her Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. Stephanie is recognized for her tenacity, persistence, and commitment to professional growth. She received the Loss Prevention World Class Leadership Award for FY2025. Beyond her operational responsibilities, she is committed to supporting the development of women in loss prevention, including mentoring three women and encouraging them to use their voices and take their place at the leadership table. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the tenacity I have for wanting more. I have consistently challenged myself to grow, take on new responsibilities, and pursue opportunities that allow me to develop professionally and make a greater impact.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to lead with facts over feelings. I believe that relying on objective information, data, and evidence leads to stronger decisions and more effective solutions, particularly in loss prevention and shortage control.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You have a seat at the table, so do not question whether you belong there. Use your voice, contribute your perspective, and have the confidence to participate in important conversations. Your presence and perspective have value.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is helping others understand what we are trying to accomplish and why our work matters. In loss prevention, fraud, and shortage control, communicating the purpose behind investigations and initiatives is essential to gaining understanding, alignment, and support from business partners.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are honesty, hard work, persistence, and tenacity. I believe these qualities are important both professionally and personally and have helped shape how I approach challenges, opportunities, and continued growth.
