Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my three children—they are my foundational “why” and the driving force behind every step of my journey from medical assistant to certified coder and now business owner. Their motivation has pushed me to grow, lead, and model strength, resilience, and possibility. I also credit my passion for helping providers—especially in mental and behavioral health—serve underserved communities with dignity and sustainability.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “It’s never too late to start.” This pushed me to move from frontline clinical work into revenue cycle management, pursue certification, launch my own business, and continue my education—proving that transformation truly has no age limit.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be patient with yourself, stay committed, and trust that every step—even the tough ones—builds your expertise. Don’t worry about having everything figured out; keep going, keep learning, and never let doubt stop you from pursuing your calling.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is the instability in insurance reimbursement and funding cuts, particularly in mental health and rural healthcare. At the same time, this creates a tremendous opportunity, as skilled revenue cycle professionals are in high demand to help providers stay open, reduce administrative burden, and continue serving vulnerable populations.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are leadership, integrity, service, and family. I strive to lead by example, showing my children and community what commitment looks like, while finding joy in skating, working out, and reading.
