Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received has come from two key mentors—Jeff, a former CFO who consistently pushed me to excel, and Hannah Benson, my current manager, who provides unwavering support and guidance. Their mentorship shaped my growth and inspired me to pay it forward by mentoring new hires, which I find incredibly fulfilling as I help them learn the fundamentals of insurance and see the many opportunities the industry offers.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to pursue a career in this industry because of its broad scope and strong potential for growth. There are many paths to explore, opportunities to learn, and long-term careers to build.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the insurance industry is its historically male-dominated nature, which can sometimes limit access to advancement opportunities. At the same time, there is a significant opportunity for women to build confidence, advocate for themselves, and step into growth opportunities when they arise.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are building strong relationships, networking, and giving back to the community. I believe that meaningful connections are key to growth in the ever-evolving insurance industry, and I also prioritize supporting organizations like Caring for Friends and the Women’s Humane Society, which allow me to make a positive impact beyond my professional work.
