Her Story
About Stephanie
I've been in the automotive industry for 5 years, starting as a service advisor before moving into my current role as a commercial consultant at Bozard Ford about 7 months ago. As a service advisor, I learned a lot about vehicle terms and what we need to work on vehicles, which really helped prepare me for my current position. Now, as a commercial consultant, I serve as a rep for my dealership, visiting customers to let them know what we offer to help reduce downtime for their companies. We provide mobile service at their businesses, job sites, and homes to make things as convenient as possible so they don't have to miss out on any daily operations. I was always into cars and looking for something different and intriguing, and I thought it was really cool to be a female in this role since it's usually a male-dominated field. One of my proudest achievements was winning Employee of the Year at my company a couple years ago, which was awesome considering we have almost 500 people. I'm very active in the community, attending networking events monthly through the Jacksonville Chamber and other organizations. I really enjoy networking and being around the community, and that's where I see myself in the future, continuing to build those connections.

The best career advice I've received is just to be yourself and work as hard as you can. Being yourself will really get you as far as you can go, and you have to keep working while you're doing it. I'm a very hard worker and I'm also a perfectionist, so I always try to work as hard as I can.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say kind of be yourself and learn as much as you can. It's not as hard as it looks. Once you learn everything, it's actually really fun. It's a fun industry to be in. I want to let females know that this industry is fun to work in and they can do it.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I wouldn't say there are any challenges, but I would say that there's always something new to learn in this industry. You can be in the industry for like 20 years and you're still learning. So it always keeps your mind going and it's always interesting, and it never gets boring.
