About Stephanie

Stephanie Pinion-Vaccaro is an accomplished healthcare and business administrator with more than two decades of leadership experience in medical practice management, business operations, and healthcare administration. She currently serves as Business Administrator for THinc | Traverso Hand Inc. and Broward Hand Center, Inc., where she oversees daily operations, business strategy, financial and administrative functions, staff development, and the continued growth of specialized hand surgery practices.

Her extensive healthcare career includes more than a decade as Healthcare Administrator at Weston Medical Health Center and ten years at Emerald Hills Medical Center. These experiences have given her a comprehensive understanding of both the clinical and business sides of healthcare and have shaped her commitment to creating environments where patients receive personalized, high quality care and employees feel respected, supported, and valued.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration. She also began pursuing her master’s degree but made the difficult decision to place her studies on hold due to the significant time demands of her professional and personal responsibilities. Her commitment to continued learning, however, has remained constant throughout her career, and she continues to expand her knowledge through hands-on leadership, professional development, and more than 20 years of practical healthcare experience.

Recognized as a strategic, detail oriented, and results driven leader, Stephanie combines strong business acumen with extensive healthcare expertise. She is passionate about improving operational efficiency, strengthening professional relationships, supporting her team, enhancing patient satisfaction, and helping the organizations she serves grow without compromising their values or the quality of care they provide.

Ten minutes with Stephanie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to the support and guidance I have received from mentors throughout my career. Their willingness to share their knowledge and experience helped shape me into the leader I am today. I have also learned that success is never achieved alone. Surrounding myself with the right people, developing strong and dependable teams, and recognizing each person’s unique strengths have been essential to my growth.

Equally important has been my commitment to building and maintaining meaningful professional relationships. I believe trust, communication, consistency, and treating people with respect are the foundation of every successful business relationship. Ultimately, my success has come from being willing to learn from others, bringing the right people together, and remaining dedicated to the relationships and responsibilities entrusted to me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is not to second-guess myself and to remain strong and confident as a leader. Leadership often requires making difficult decisions, and I have learned to trust my experience, judgment, and instincts while still remaining open to feedback.

I was also taught that respect should never depend on someone’s title or position. Every person plays an important role, and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and appreciation. When people feel respected, valued, and supported, they are more likely to take pride in their work and give their best. To me, strong leadership is not about being above others, it is about bringing out the best in them.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to remain strong, confident, and true to themselves. Do not allow anyone to intimidate you, diminish your voice, or make you question your abilities. There may be times when others judge you or underestimate what you are capable of, but those opinions do not define your worth or your potential.

Hold your head high, trust your knowledge, and continue to grow through every experience. Stand firm in who you are, advocate for yourself, and never be afraid to take your place at the table.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest challenges in healthcare today is maintaining the highest standard of patient care while insurance reimbursements continue to decline and operating costs continue to rise. Medical practices must manage the increasing expenses of staffing, supplies, technology, and regulatory requirements while still remaining financially sustainable.

Our goal has never been to operate like a “cattle farm,” moving as many patients through the office as possible. We want our physicians and staff to have the time needed to listen, educate, and provide each patient with thoughtful, individualized care. The challenge is finding a way to remain profitable without compromising the quality of care or the values on which our practice was built.

At times, it can feel as though insurance companies are more focused on protecting their financial interests than supporting patients and providers. However, this challenge also creates an opportunity for healthcare leaders to advocate for change, improve efficiency, and develop new ways to deliver excellent care while preserving the personal connection that patients deserve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are integrity, honesty, balance, and making people feel valued. In my work, I want every patient who walks through our doors to feel heard, cared for, and confident that we are doing what is best for them. I never want healthcare to feel impersonal.

My staff is also extremely important to me. I want them to know that their hard work is seen and appreciated, and I take pride in being able to provide benefits and opportunities that can help support their lives and their futures. I truly believe that when people feel respected and valued, they give their best in return.

Personally, maintaining a healthy balance between my work and home life is very important to me. I am deeply committed to my career, but I also value my family, my relationships, and the time spent with the people I love. At the end of the day, I want to be known as someone who worked hard, treated people well, remained honest, and never compromised her values.
