Her Story
About Stephanie
Stephanie PitreKirk is an author whose publishing career began in 2013 with her first book of poetry. Her writing was initially inspired by personal losses and life experiences, leading to a thesis completed in 1999. She has expanded her work to include family history books and is collaborating on a history book for her city that highlights leadership roles over the years. PitreKirk also volunteers by teaching high school and junior high students how to write short poems that encourage their future aspirations. She brings experience from communications roles in radio, television, and newspapers, which provided her writing foundation and public speaking skills. She served nearly five years in the military. Despite facing dyslexia, she has pursued authorship by following advice to rewrite, proofread repeatedly, avoid marrying original drafts, and study her craft for greater efficiency. PitreKirk focuses on making a living while making a positive difference by influencing and encouraging others.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I don't know about success, I've just been trying to make a living and make a difference. And you do that from day to day, and hopefully you influence and encourage others in a positive manner. So that they will go forward and fulfill that golden imprint.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Rewrite, rewrite, proofread, rewrite. Don't marry your original work. It may sound good to you, but there's always areas of improvement. Study your craft so that you can be better and more efficient at it.
