Shelton earned an associate's degree from Panola College, a bachelor's degree from UT Tyler, and will complete her master's degree at the University of Phoenix on November 9. She is pursuing her Enrolled Agent credential and plans to join the National Association of Tax Professionals and the Texas Society of Enrolled Agents. Beyond her professional work, Shelton serves on the board of Faith Haven, a faith-based nonprofit offering grief retreats.

The best career advice I received is to get out of my own way, trust God's path for me, and not be scared to do it.
