Ten minutes with Suhani

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would attribute my success to my parents. Because I'm an international student here, they sent me and put all their savings on the line to send me to this country to make a name for myself, so that was a big thing they did for me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received was just getting involved in everything that I can. As soon as I got into college, I started a lot of clubs and that advice has led me to make some of my best friends today.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice I would give is just network with people, like, talk to people. I think that's the best thing that you can do, just getting involved in a lot of stuff helps.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Some of the challenges are that the job market is pretty bad right now, so it's just hard to get something. But also, some of the opportunities are that there's a lot of opportunity for research, like a lot more people wanting people to predict the upcoming economy things will go down. There's a lot more opportunity for research with people.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Values which are most important to me in work and personal life would be just being hardworking at work. I like to give my home 50%. Just being proactive, showing up, caring about what I'm doing and the people that I'm with.
