Suma Hodge serves as regional clinical director for a behavioral health organization in Arizona, where she oversees clinical programs, clinicians, interns, and ensures evidence-based, ethically sound services. She also works as a behavioral health consultant supporting new organizations with licensing, policies, and clinical practices, and provides therapy and counseling services. With over 15 years in the field, Hodge has worked across diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, group homes, and residential services with populations such as those with SMI, substance use disorders, adolescents, young adults, and individuals released from prison. She returned to school in 2020 to study trauma specifically and holds certification as a clinical trauma professional level 2, focusing on complex childhood trauma and its impacts. Hodge is a board-certified clinical supervisor in Arizona and licensed in both Arizona and Georgia. Her work is driven by personal and family experiences with behavioral health challenges, and she received the Unsung Hero Award from the African American Affairs program connected to the Arizona governor's office.

Don't doubt yourself or feel imposter syndrome. Be easy on yourself. Find the population you are most passionate about and go for it. Lived experience can be more helpful than any education.
