Her Story
About Sunita
I've been in my field for 18 plus years, starting in the music industry working for a label before moving into media with Paramount, where I spent almost 17 years in various capacities including marketing, partnerships, communications, and awards. At Paramount, I worked on strategically aligning awards partnerships, developing sponsorship packages and tiers, and managing campaigns and communications across different entities within the Paramount umbrella. I also led their internship program and mentored many interns who still reach out to me today. After taking inventory of where the industry was going, I made the leap to shift industries and moved into the hospitality and food and beverage world. Now I work with celebrity chef JJ Johnson, leading all of his partnerships from soup to nuts - whether it's initiating conversations about what his festival should look like, managing his presence at food and wine festivals for several years, or leading a multi-city tour that will expand from fall into next year across 4 to 5 cities. I'm also helping him expand and scale his restaurants - he has about 4, and I'm working on his fifth one now. I've always been in the entertainment space because it's something that makes people feel good, and the food and hospitality world has that same energy.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say, do it. My advice would be, you know, learn all that you can along the way, take the risk. And always, you know, follow your gut instincts.
