About Supriya
Supriya Christopher serves as Director of Public Relations for a destination marketing organization in Savannah, Georgia. In this role for the past three years, she leads a small team focused on earned media for the destination, engaging with editors and writers from around the country and the world through phone calls, Zoom meetings, and in-person visits. She hosts writers and editors during their trips to Savannah, providing tours and pitching story angles, and has successfully secured major broadcast coverage including a three-hour live Good Morning America segment and Fox News broadcasts from Savannah. With roughly 30 years of experience spanning journalism, communications, and public relations, her career began in news at USA Today and ABC News before transitioning through roles in retail, state government, and the private sector while remaining in the communications field. She completed her undergraduate studies at Seton Falls University and was commissioned as an Army officer. Christopher is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Society of American Travel Writers. She was named Woman of Impact for Travel and Tourism Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America. Outside of work, she supports military families, participates in health literacy tutoring, United Way, and other volunteer efforts, and enjoys visiting national parks with her husband.
