Ten minutes with Supriya
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering the industry not to rush and to make their health and well-being a top priority. Getting enough sleep and taking time to recharge are essential to maintaining the energy and focus needed for a successful career. I also encourage them to give themselves permission to pause when needed, whether that means taking a few months away from school or work to pursue something they are passionate about, explore their interests, and rejuvenate. Taking care of yourself is not a setback; it is an important part of building a sustainable and fulfilling career.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is the extensive amount of testing required to demonstrate that a product is safe and meets FDA and ISO guidelines. While these standards are essential for ensuring quality, safety, and reliability, the testing process can be time consuming and resource intensive. I see a significant opportunity for innovation in this area, particularly through new technologies and more efficient testing approaches. Over the next five to ten years, I believe advancements in automation, data analysis, and scientific methods will help streamline testing while maintaining the high standards necessary to protect safety and quality.
