About Susan

Susan E. Guerra is a seasoned technology sales and business development leader with 26 years of experience in enterprise technology sales. She currently serves as Solution Sales Manager on the AI Partnerships team at Meta, where she focuses on go-to-market strategy and helps organizations leverage AI models to develop innovative tools and business solutions. In her role, Guerra works closely with companies to identify opportunities for AI adoption, translate emerging technologies into practical business applications, and support organizations as they navigate the rapidly evolving AI landscape. Prior to joining the AI Partnerships team, she spent more than three years at Meta supporting virtual reality go-to-market initiatives as a Channel Sales Manager, where she focused on business applications including training, simulations, and workforce collaboration.

Guerra began her career in technology sales after discovering her passion for presenting and pitching products during a college public speaking course. Over the course of her career, she has held sales and account leadership positions with Xerox and Salesforce, consistently demonstrating a strong ability to build executive relationships, develop strategic accounts, drive revenue, and connect technology solutions to business needs. During her nearly two decades with Xerox, she earned repeated recognition through the President’s Club and High Achiever’s Club for exceptional sales performance. She later brought her enterprise sales expertise to Salesforce, where she focused on software solutions and strategic customer relationships. Guerra earned her B.S. in Finance from New Jersey City University and her MBA in Management from the University of Phoenix, completing her graduate studies while working full time. She has also completed Challenger sales training and multiple AI-focused certifications through Coursera, including studies related to agentic AI and Google Gemini.

A committed advocate for continuous learning and professional development, Guerra actively participates in several employee and professional groups at Meta, including AI for Women, women in technology initiatives, and the Latina group. She attributes her career success to maintaining a constant desire to learn and a genuine curiosity about products, people, and emerging business opportunities. Her professional philosophy is grounded in the belief that success requires both courage and preparation, reflected in her personal mantra to “be fearless but prepared.” She also encourages young women entering technology and AI to ask for help, build strong networks of knowledgeable professionals, and remain adaptable in an industry defined by rapid change. Through her leadership, sales expertise, and commitment to helping organizations understand the possibilities of AI, Guerra continues to contribute to the advancement of technology and its impact on modern businesses.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Susan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success throughout my 26-year career to being a constant learner and maintaining a genuine curiosity about products, people, and business opportunities. I have always been willing to ask questions, embrace new challenges, and continuously expand my knowledge. This mindset has allowed me to adapt to change, build meaningful relationships, recognize opportunities, and continue growing both personally and professionally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to “be fearless but prepared.” I believe in surrounding myself with a trusted circle of women colleagues who offer encouragement, perspective, and support rather than relying solely on formal mentors. I also carry forward an important lesson from my former manager at Xerox, Valerie Cunningham, who encouraged me to always do “a little extra” in every role. These principles have taught me to approach opportunities with confidence, preparation, and a commitment to consistently exceed expectations.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to never be afraid to ask for help. Building a strong network of trusted specialists and experienced professionals can provide valuable guidance, perspective, and opportunities for growth. No one succeeds alone, and developing meaningful professional relationships can be just as important as building technical expertise. I encourage young women to stay curious, seek out knowledgeable people, ask thoughtful questions, and never underestimate the value of a strong professional network.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in AI is the rapid pace of change. The industry is evolving so quickly that staying current requires continuous learning, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new technologies and approaches. While this can be challenging, I see it as a tremendous opportunity to grow, expand my expertise, and help organizations navigate emerging technologies effectively.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are family, health, integrity, and balance. I believe that while a successful career is important, family and personal well-being should always remain a priority. I also value surrounding myself with supportive, positive, and motivating colleagues who encourage growth, collaboration, and excellence. These values guide how I approach my work, relationships, and decisions while helping me maintain a fulfilling and balanced life.
