Her Interview

Ten minutes with Susan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to surrounding myself with exceptional mentors and coaches throughout my career. I intentionally seek out people who are more experienced and knowledgeable than I am because they continually challenge me to grow, expand my perspective, and become a stronger leader. Their guidance has shaped both my professional development and my approach to leadership.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to focus on solving business problems and becoming a strategic partner rather than simply serving as an execution resource or training function. That mindset has influenced every stage of my career, allowing me to align enablement strategies with organizational goals and deliver measurable business outcomes.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to ask thoughtful questions, demonstrate genuine curiosity, and bring forward solutions instead of simply identifying challenges. Build strong relationships, embrace collaboration, and never underestimate the value of teamwork. Most importantly, support other women as they grow into leadership roles because when one of us succeeds, we create opportunities for others to rise as well.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is keeping pace with the rapid evolution of technology, particularly artificial intelligence and emerging sales technologies. The greatest opportunity is to embrace change rather than resist it by remaining curious, experimenting with new approaches, continuously learning, and leveraging AI to improve productivity and business outcomes. Organizations and individuals who are willing to adapt will be best positioned for long-term success.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Collaboration, teamwork, and respect are the values that guide both my professional and personal life. I believe that meaningful success is built through strong partnerships, mutual trust, and helping others succeed. I am especially passionate about supporting and mentoring women in leadership, creating opportunities for them to grow, thrive, and achieve their full potential.
