Suzanne Lasky is the founder and principal designer of S Interior Design, LLC, a Scottsdale-based interior design firm she has led for over 25 years. Specializing in high-end residential projects, Suzanne provides full-service design solutions including remodels, new construction, space planning, furnishings, and custom window treatments. She is also the exclusive provider of Pawprint Design Services™, a niche offering that integrates pet-friendly design with functional and visually stunning interiors. Suzanne works closely with busy professionals to create homes that are both luxurious and livable, ensuring each space reflects the client’s personal style while supporting daily life.

Before establishing her design firm, Suzanne spent 14 years in corporate marketing and product development, where she gained experience in branding, positioning, and project management. She later returned to school to earn an Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design, complementing her undergraduate degree in Marketing and an MBA in Business Administration. This combination of business acumen and creative expertise allows her to manage both the aesthetic vision and operational logistics of complex design projects, delivering results that are both beautiful and highly functional.

Beyond her professional work, Suzanne is actively involved in charitable initiatives supporting homeless animals, including Home Fur Good, a local no-kill shelter, and Gabriel’s Angels, which uses pet therapy to aid children’s social and emotional development. Known for her integrity, clear communication, and attention to detail, Suzanne has built a reputation for thoughtful, sophisticated design that balances elegance with comfort. Her clients and collaborators consistently praise her ability to blend creativity with professionalism, making her a trusted leader in the interior design industry.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, adaptability, and a strong foundation in both business and creativity. My MBA gave me the strategic and financial knowledge to run a thriving firm, while my passion for design drives the artistic vision of my projects. I also credit integrity, clear communication, and building strong relationships with clients and vendors as essential to sustaining long-term success.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to “build something you believe in—and build it well.” I carried this mindset when I left corporate America to pursue interior design full-time, making sure my firm reflected both excellence and authenticity.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering interior design is to develop both creative and business skills, because talent alone isn’t enough. Expect hard work, stay adaptable, and cultivate thick skin, while prioritizing clear communication, professional presentation, and strong relationships with clients and vendors. Always listen before reacting and approach every opportunity with integrity—your reputation travels fast in this industry.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in interior design right now include rising costs from tariffs, supply chain and logistics delays, high damage rates during shipping and installation, and managing client expectations shaped by social media and reality TV. At the same time, there are exciting opportunities to integrate AI and digital tools for design visualization, meet growing demand for personalized, lifestyle- and wellness-driven interiors, and provide clients with the expertise that combines aesthetics with strong project management and business strategy.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, honesty, and clear communication are central to both my work and personal life, guiding how I run my business and choose collaborators. I also value creativity with purpose, a commitment to quality, compassion for animals and the community, and maintaining a healthy balance between career and family.
