About Syeda
I was born in Pakistan and came to the United States, where I finished high school and began my nursing education. I graduated from nursing school in 2019 and completed my BSN in 2020. I started my career as a registered nurse in Springfield during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when our unit was converted to a COVID unit. I cared for many COVID patients, tracheostomy patients, and medical-surgical patients during this challenging time. In 2023, I moved to Chicago, Illinois and began working at Endeavor Health in Elmhurst as an oncology hospice nurse. While working full-time, I pursued my master's degree at Bradley University in the family nurse practitioner program. Despite the demands of work, school, and being a mother to my young son, I graduated with my master's in 2025 and passed my boards in February 2026. I am now a licensed family nurse practitioner actively seeking a permanent position in that role, while continuing to serve patients on the hospice oncology floor at my hospital.
