Her Story

About Sylvia

Sylvia Cespedes co-founded a women's speaker series in 2023 that hosts events twice a year for women in Dallas, Texas. As an industrial engineer holding a master's degree in services, she applies her expertise in making processes efficient and comfortable to curate conversations, select venues such as art galleries or sculpture gardens, secure sponsors, and manage marketing for the events. Her background of living in different countries and traveling to 98 nations informs her approach to exposing audiences to women's realities across topics including psychology, medicine, entrepreneurship, beauty, and parenting. She attributes her success to the unique interactions created by bringing together women from other countries and local women in the United States. In addition to her work with the series, Cespedes serves on the regional board for UNICEF and has been involved with the boards of Children's Health Hospital, the Museum of Art, and the Museum of Science in her city.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sylvia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to touching and trying to combine women from other countries and local women in the U.S., creating an intersection that excites people and draws them to these lectures because of the unique interaction and perspectives shared.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is to try to keep up with technology and be open to new ways of doing things, including using AI, but always keep things human, especially in events where we focus on generating good feelings and touching upon the personality of women.
