Ten minutes with Sylvia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my professional success to the support of Mark Naples, whose guidance and collaboration played an important role in my decision to form my LLC. I also credit much of my academic and personal success to the encouragement and influence of scholar Vinay Bahl, as well as the support of Daniel Christopher. Their mentorship, belief in my abilities, and willingness to share their knowledge have helped shape my development and have been instrumental in the success I have achieved.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering the industry that they will hear “no” far more often than they hear “yes,” and that learning to navigate rejection is essential to long-term success. Develop a thick skin early, become intentional about understanding your own thoughts and reactions, and learn to emotionally regulate through challenging moments. Resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to keep moving forward despite setbacks will serve you throughout your career.
