Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tabitha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my professional success to hands-on experience, persistence, and the guidance of strong mentors. In particular, my mentor Andrew Huie at Panasonic played an important role in my development by providing daily, hands-on guidance and support as I took on new projects and developed skills in, contract management, and project coordination. I have also continued to invest in myself through online education and certifications, which has allowed me to build new skills and expand my knowledge beyond my previous experience.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to be persistent and believe in themselves. You do not have to know everything when you begin. There are many opportunities to learn and build confidence through hands-on experience and online education. I recommend taking advantage of resources such as Udemy and using them to develop practical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Lean Six Sigma, and other areas that can help you grow professionally.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is extremely important to me, and I value working in a family-oriented workplace where people support one another. I also value persistence, continuous learning, organization, professional growth, and helping others succeed. My career progression has shown me the importance of being willing to learn new skills, take on new responsibilities, and continually look for ways to improve processes and support the people around me.
