About Talar
Talar Alexanian serves as Legislative and Advocacy Affairs Manager at AltaMed Health Services, the largest non-profit federal qualified health center. With over a decade of experience in government relations and advocacy, she primarily focuses on local and state government issues related to policy advocacy, partnerships with community members and local elected officials, and creative implementation of advocacy strategies. Her work aims to shape the healthcare ecosystem for mostly uninsured or low-income individuals in the Los Angeles area, ensuring access to healthcare and addressing social determinants of health. Talar's passion for this field stems from her early volunteering on political campaigns in high school, which evolved into her first job, and her background as the granddaughter of Armenian genocide survivors and daughter of immigrants. She holds a degree from Cal State Northridge. Talar maintains active involvement in several organizations, including the Armenian Professional Society, where she served as president, the Armenian International Women's Association, and the CSUN Alumni Association. Additionally, she contributes as a quarterly blood donor to the American Red Cross and mentors youth through the CORO program.
