Her Story

About Talia

I've been in the marketing industry for about 8 years now, and I actually got my start as a copywriter. Today, I'm freelancing as a senior copywriter, and I also do social media management and production management for events of any kind, whether it's live, a wedding event, or a corporate event. I work for myself essentially, but I work with clients. I'm a writer at heart and definitely a creative thinker. My expertise with copywriting lies in developing a strong brand voice. I really do believe that with the rise of AI and everything, I feel like we're losing that human touch, so especially today, it's more important than ever to have that strong brand voice, to know who you are as you're talking to. You have to know who you are, and then you also have to know who you aren't. Throughout my whole career, I've just been essentially proving to myself that I can do this. I actually don't have any formal educational background with marketing or copywriting, so everything that I know has been through experience, through my own research and reading books, and taking classes and courses to better understand. My journey has been my biggest career achievement. I never thought I could get here, and look at me now.

Ten minutes with Talia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I definitely attribute my success to my parents, honestly. It's the way that they work. They've always been hard workers, they've always instilled that in me, so I would absolutely attribute that to them, and the way that they raised me to be.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Definitely read as much as you can on not just marketing and copywriting, but psychology and seller psychology. I would say that Story Selling was one of the books that made me see copywriting from a different lens, and that really helped shape the way that I write. So yeah, definitely be knowledgeable in your craft and what you're doing, and especially in the beginning, there is a point where you do have to put your head down and really work hard, but it's so worth it in the end.
