Her Story
About Talisha
I graduated with a master's in creative writing and English Literature after initially working in television production at ESPN. Unable to find a job right away in my desired field, I went into banking and then became a licensed broker at Charles Schwab for seven years. After a downsizing, with help from a career coach, I returned to education and secured a full-time lectureship at a local university. Now I get to do my dream job teaching composition, mentoring students, and engaging in community work like judging ethics bowls and writing contests. I am also a published fiction writer and co-editor of the anthology Excavating Honesty.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
When you do what you love, you're never really working a day in your life. I took that to heart and strive to balance having my material needs met while also being fulfilled in a spiritual sense.
