Her Story
About Talya
Talya Coleman serves as Senior Business Manager for a textile manufacturer specializing in healthcare products, working out of Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she partners with healthcare systems across a broad stretch of the East Coast. Her work centers on advancing infection prevention initiatives, strengthening compliance standards, and reducing the incidence of hospital-acquired infections—efforts that place her at the intersection of patient safety and operational excellence. Her path to this role was far from linear: she pursued a business management degree before entering law school, initially intending to build a career in legal practice and spending time in prosecution. She ultimately found her calling in sales and business development instead, a shift that led her to nearly four years in new business sales at Cintas, where she earned President's Club honors before moving into the company's healthcare-focused division and later being recruited to her current position.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Coleman has channeled her entrepreneurial instincts into founding The Eros Group Inc, a creative and branding agency that reflects a different facet of her professional versatility. She also devotes time to community impact through her role on the Board of Directors for Love Heals, a nonprofit where she serves as Donor Development Chair, helping to organize benefit concerts and fundraising efforts that ease the burden of medical debt for families in need. This philanthropic commitment is closely tied to her own story of resilience: while still in law school, Coleman left an abusive marriage and rebuilt her life and career with nothing to fall back on, an experience that became a defining source of strength and purpose.
That journey continues to shape both her professional philosophy and the guidance she offers others. Coleman attributes much of her drive to her children and to the proof, born from adversity, that she can overcome any obstacle placed in front of her. As a woman working in industries often dominated by men, she is a firm believer in walking into any room without hesitation, owning the space, and commanding the respect one has earned. Balancing a demanding career with family life, she remains committed to the values of resilience, service, and connection—principles that inform not only her leadership in healthcare compliance but also her ongoing dedication to helping others rebuild and thrive.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Talya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I credit my success to my children and to the resilience I discovered after leaving an abusive marriage with nothing. Rebuilding my life from the ground up taught me that I am capable of accomplishing anything I set my mind to.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to walk into any room with confidence, even if they are the only woman present. You are fully capable of owning that space and commanding the respect you deserve as a professional.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the ongoing challenges in my field is operating within a male-prevalent industry, where women are frequently the only representation in the room. At the same time, there is significant opportunity in continuing to strengthen infection prevention and compliance efforts to reduce hospital-acquired infections across healthcare systems.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Resilience, service to others—particularly families facing medical hardship—and family are the values that guide me most, both professionally and personally.
