Her Story

About Tamara

After selling my health coaching business, I was looking to go back into the workforce and find something that aligned with my giftings in client experience and taking care of people. That's how I got into automotive about 7 years ago, and it's been a really good fit. I work with a great team, and what I've learned over the years is that success isn't just one person - it's your whole group working well together. Being a woman in automotive, which is definitely a man's world, has had its challenges. I'm a sensitive person with a lot of emotion, but I've learned you still have to stand up and share your thoughts and your voice. The guys I work with really value my opinion and what I have to say, which has been huge for me. I bring that nurturing perspective, that different way of thinking, and I've found that even when it's not easy, being consistent and confident, standing up for people, and respecting both perspectives is what matters. People come to me not just for my job, but for other things too, and I find it very lovely that people trust me with their life, whether professionally or personally. I take pride in that.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I definitely attribute my success to it being a team thing - you cannot do things on your own, you have to have support. Something I've learned over the years is really having empathy for people. When you've been through a lot, you kind of understand people a little better. So I think it's just a mixture of that - we're a great team, we all work really well together, and it's not just one person that has success, it's your whole group. When you're working with the public or anyone, even people you work with, you have to just have empathy and kindness and kind of get on people's level. That's been real big for me.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I have a strong faith, for sure - I couldn't do life without Jesus, that's for sure. And then really just integrity and listening to people, I think, is huge. People come to me for all other things too, not just my job, and I find it very lovely that people trust me with their life, whether professionally or personally. I take pride in that, and it means a lot that people trust me. So I think it's just having integrity and being honest, and also having fun. Life is heavy with so much that we're dealing with, I think you gotta just laugh and enjoy life as well.
